Wisconsin DNR Permits, Licenses and Registrations
Boating Safety Course – Wisconsin boating safety certification or out-of-state equivalent certification is required for operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1989. Anyone is eligible to take the class and receive a safety education completion certificate, however, courses are designed at a 5th-grade level or up.

Burning Permits – You are required to call or check website prior to burning. 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876) Permits are required for debris burns and need to be renewed annually. Each individual property owner needs their own separate burning permit. There is no cost for permits and an electronic or printed copy of the burning permit is required, either will be accepted.
